Capturing Tesia and Jabari’s wedding day at The Whitley Hotel in Buckhead was an absolute milestone moment for me. In fact, Tesia and I go way back to my time working in the athletics department at Agnes Scott College. I served as her personal trainer while she was a student there. Over the last decade, I have had the distinct honor of documenting her journey through branding sessions and maternity portraits. Consequently, being chosen to capture her wedding day on both photo and film felt like the ultimate full-circle blessing.
Furthermore, Tesia and Jabari’s love story is a beautiful testament to divine timing. Even though they were in each other’s orbits for years from high school through college, timing is everything. They waited until they were both fully ready for a relationship. Therefore, this day wasn’t rushed at all. Instead, it was a beautiful celebration of patience, love, and things happening exactly when they are meant to.

The couple opted for a unique, midday brunch ceremony. While a brunch wedding requires a very early morning wakeup call for prep, the day felt beautifully calm outside of the early start.
Meanwhile, The Whitley Hotel in Buckhead proved to be an incredibly accommodating venue for a high-end Atlanta wedding. For example, one of the best operational features of the hotel is its layout. The property hosts separate spaces for the ceremony and the reception. As a result, the staff never had to perform a chaotic “room flip” during cocktail hour.
Additionally, the venue features a hidden passageway. This secret hallway allows the bride and groom to move between spaces without being seen by guests. We took full advantage of this privacy. Ultimately, we used the beautifully styled ceremony space ahead of time for their first look and formal family portraits.
Before the ceremony began, Tesia and Jabari shared a highly anticipated first look that set the emotional tone for the day. Tesia looked absolutely radiant in a classic gown from White Swan Bridal Boutique. Simultaneously, B for Beaute provided flawless makeup while B Fly Experience created a stunning hairstyle. Jabari also looked incredibly sharp in a custom suit from Trio Customs.
During their first look, the couple exchanged luxury wedding gifts, and the thoughtfulness was unmatched. First, Jabari gifted Tesia a classic bouquet of flowers and a pair of Cartier shades. Then, Tesia completely blew Jabari away by gifting him a custom gold-plated gun. The sheer surprise on his face said everything, making it a completely unforgettable moment.

Next came a family focused ceremony filled with intentional details. The couple’s beautiful daughter served as one of the flower girls. At the same time, Tesia’s son had the distinct honor of walking his mother down the aisle.
The entire day ran seamlessly because the Irene Tyndale Events team planned and executed every detail flawlessly. Furthermore, Sejour Events meticulously designed the visual setup, transforming the space into a romantic indoor garden. Specifically, they brought in four massive, towering trees. They placed two in the ceremony space and two in the reception ballroom, accenting them with sparkling crystals and lush floral arrangements.
Following the ceremony, Tesia treated her guests to a full look change for the reception by letting her hair down into a glamorous new style. Atlanta Dance Floor also set up a custom dance floor wrapper, creating a crisp, highend focal point for the party.
During the brunch dinner, speeches from the couple’s parents left everyone in tears. Their parents spoke with immense pride about the incredible adults Tesia and Jabari have become. Moreover, they expressed pure joy for the beautiful family the newlyweds have built together.
Once the speeches wrapped, it was time to celebrate. DJ Tay Productions took over the one’s and two’s, spinning classic Atlanta hits and oldschool anthems. Consequently, they kept every single generation out on the dance floor. Tesia also shared an epic father daughter dance that brought unmatched energy to the room. Finally, the celebration ended perfectly later that evening with a grand sparkler exit outside the hotel doors.
Tesia and Jabari’s Whitley Hotel wedding was a flawless blend of luxury, deep family legacy, and unfiltered joy. It was an absolute honor to document this chapter of their story on film and photo, and I know these memories will stand the test of time.
